For the best comfort and appearance we also recommend choosing our thinner aspheric lenses, which are flatter and slimmer. These reduce the bug-eye look and edge distortion.

Yes, you can add 1.67 or 1.74 high-index lenses to any frame during checkout. However, for best results (hidden edges and good support), we recommend choosing a frame from this dedicated collection. Not every frame hides thickness well.
With a full-rim frame and 1.67/1.74 high-index lenses, most prescriptions up to -6.00 will sit flush or slightly recessed.
We support single vision lenses up to ±15.00 and progressive lenses up to ±10.00. For extreme prescriptions (above ±10.00), we recommend acetate full-rim frames with 1.74 high-index lenses and a rolled edge finish.
Yes, for most high prescriptions. Round shapes eliminate the thick corners that square frames create. Plus, the circular design naturally draws the eye inward, away from the lens edge. Square frames can work if they are very small (under 48mm) and full-rim.
Minus lenses (nearsighted) make eyes appear slightly smaller. Round, full-rim frames in dark colors minimize this effect. Also, choosing 1.74 high-index lenses reduces the minification compared to standard plastic lenses.
Yes, plus lenses (farsighted) magnify the eyes. To reduce the “bug-eye” look, choose small round or oval frames with deep rims. Avoid thin metal rims and rimless styles, which make magnification more obvious.
Absolutely. We offer high-index progressive lenses up to ±10.00. However, frame choice becomes even more critical. We recommend a lens height of at least 28mm to accommodate the progressive corridor.
Extremely accurate. A 2mm error in PD can cause noticeable blur and eye strain for prescriptions over ±5.00. We recommend using our free PD ruler. For prescriptions over ±8.00, we may contact you to verify measurements.
Spherical Equivalent is calculated as SE = SPH + (CYL ÷ 2). This is the single number we use to determine your recommended lens index. For example, if your prescription is SPH -4.00 with CYL -2.00, your SE is -5.00D (-4.00 + -1.00). This matters because it gives us a single, consistent measure to match you with the right lens thickness.
Based on our algorithm:
±0.00 to ±2.50: 1.56 Standard
±2.75 to ±5.00: 1.60 Mid-Index
±5.25 to ±6.00: 1.67 High-Index
±6.25 and above: 1.74 Ultra-High-Index
Important – Astigmatism Upgrade Rule: If your astigmatism (CYL) is ±2.50 or higher, we will automatically recommend one index higher than the SE-based suggestion above. For example, if your SE is ±3.00 (which normally suggests 1.60) but your CYL is -3.00, you will need 1.67 high-index lenses. This ensures your lenses are as thin and aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Astigmatism correction (CYL) adds extra thickness at specific angles of the lens. When your CYL is ±2.50 or higher, the combined thickness from both SPH and CYL becomes significant. That’s why we recommend going up one index level – it keeps your lenses thin and your frames looking great.
